Jill Bay
Chief Executive Officer, Moxie Underwriting
With over 39 years of comprehensive underwriting and program management expertise, Jill Bay is a seasoned leader in the insurance industry. Her career began on the carrier side with CNA and Chubb, where she developed a strong foundation in rating and underwriting practices.
In 1996, Jill transitioned to the Excess & Surplus lines sector, managing a $20 million Lloyd’s artisan contractor’s program. Recognizing her entrepreneurial spirit, she began designing and launching specialized insurance programs in 1997, including artisan, trade, EIFS contractors, and habitational markets.
Jill has a proven track record of underwriting complex, hard-to-place general liability and property accounts. Throughout her career, she has served as the named underwriter on numerous programs with Lloyd’s and has collaborated extensively with both domestic and international carriers.
Beyond her technical expertise, Jill is a passionate mentor and advocate for women in insurance. She is dedicated to empowering the next generation of industry leaders, including her current team at Moxie Underwriting.
Stephanie Violante
Senior Underwriter, Moxie Underwriting
Stephanie Violante has been a dedicated member of Jill Bay’s team since 2015, initially serving as an Underwriting Assistant. Her early responsibilities included supporting non-admitted habitational and trade contractor programs, where she quickly demonstrated her attention to detail and a strong aptitude for insurance analysis.
Over the years, Stephanie has grown into a skilled Underwriter, now specializing in E&S. She is committed to continuous professional development, actively expanding her industry knowledge through ongoing education. Stephanie plays a vital role in designing and underwriting innovative insurance programs, contributing to Moxie Underwriting’s growth and market presence.
Her close collaboration with Jill and her team, coupled with her proactive approach and dedication, makes her a key asset in delivering tailored insurance solutions and advancing the company’s strategic initiatives.
Ashley Marie Gerace
Underwriter, Moxie Underwriting
Ashley Gerace began her insurance career in 2009, initially working with Jill Bay at PGI Commercial LLC/DUAL as an Underwriting Marketing Associate. In this role, she was instrumental in managing business development efforts through effective marketing, providing exceptional customer service, and leveraging her comprehensive product knowledge. Throughout her tenure, Ashley maintained a strong focus on client satisfaction, ensuring follow-up and ongoing communication to meet customer needs.
Following her experience in insurance, Ashley transitioned into the real estate sector, where she managed and oversaw a nationwide portfolio of habitational properties as a Senior Vice President of Investor Relations. In this capacity, she was responsible for acquiring and managing student housing properties nationwide, utilizing her expertise in property management, investor relations, and business development.
Ashley is now an Underwriter at Moxie Underwriting, where her diverse background, industry knowledge, and dedication contribute significantly to the company’s growth and client success.
